  18. This archive contains a number of Arexx script files that are called
  19. by TurboCalc macros to produce statistical analysis on data contained
  20. in a spreadsheet.

  24. NOTE: We have not been able to finish the help files and some of the scripts for
  25. this pre-release. It is about 90% complete and still usable.

  29. This is the second version of Tcalcstats. It replaces the first version
  30. developed for use with TurboCalc 3.5.
  31.  
  32. This version uses Turbocalc 5+ but may also work with TurboCalc
  33. version 4 (untested).
  34.  
  35. Please note: there were some changes made to the Arexx command set in
  36. TurboCalc between 3.5 and 4/5. Also, TurboCalc's public screen name
  37. changed. These changes, along with many, many, others are reflected in the scripts.

  39. What is included?
  40.  
  41. There are basically four categories of files in this distribution:
  42.  
  43. 1. The Arexx script files that do the work and which MUST be put in
  44. the TurboCalc/Arexx drawer.
  45. 2. The spreadsheet file that contains the macros that call the scripts
  46. (called "S_Macros.TCD", and which can be put anywhere but will be
  47. installed in the TurboCalc/arexx drawer.
  48. 3. The help files that tell you how to use the macros and interpret the
  49. results! These files would normally be put in the Turbocalc/Help/Stats_Help
  50. drawer but you can install them anywhere.
  51. 4. Special arexx library files that must go in "Libs:". These are:
  52. >rexxreqtools.library< copyright 1992-94 by Rafael D'Hallewyn
  53. >rexxmathlib.library< copyright 1995 by Thomas Richter

  55. Installation?
  56.  
  57. Use the supplied "Install_Tcalcstats2" program to put things in their
  58. proper places.
  59.  
  60. It is also vital that you have an "Assign" for Turbocalc. If the
  61. installer doesn't find one, it will prompt you to create the assign
  62. and add it to your "user-startup" file. The assign must be active or
  63. the scripts will not work!!

  65. Who did it?
  66.  
  67. Rudy Kohut did the first version by himself (and it shows!).
  68.  
  69. Rudy and Nick Bergquist teamed up to improve and expand the scripts
  70. and to create vastly improved help files in both amigaguide and HTML
  71. formats.
